Linuxdays の目的はオープンソースおよびフリーソフトウェアの動向を促進、
サポートすることです。
オープンソースおよびフリーソフトウェアの根本概念は、
世界中の開発者がインターネット経由でそのソフトウェアを配布や変更、
テストするというもので、その結果商用ソフトウェアの品質を越えることはよくあります。
オープンソースおよびフリーソフトウェアコミュニティの能力や蓄積された知識により、
新機能は迅速に実装され、バグは発見されしだい修正されるということが約束されます。
オープンソースおよびフリーソフトウェアの概念を促進し、
ルクセンブルクで公のものとするため、<a href="http://www.tudor.lu/">Centre
de Recherche Public Henri Tudor</a> の研究科学者グループが <a
href="http://www.linux.lu/">Linux User Group Luxembourg</a>
とともにルクセンブルクで 2 回目の Linuxdays を開催します。
