<p><strong>새로운 Jigdo 하우투.</strong> Peter Jay Salzman이 작성한 <a href="http://tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Debian-Jigdo/">데비안 Jigdo
미니-하우투</a>가 최근 리눅스 문서 프로젝트에 추가된 것을
확인했다. 그동안 데비안 ISO를
얻기 위해서 항상 노력해야 하고, 느리며, 극도로 비능률적인 과정을 거쳐야
했다. Jigdo는 데비안 ISO 이미지를 쉽고, 빠르고, 매우 효과적인 방법으로 얻기
위한 새로운 툴이다. 이 하우투는 왜 jigdo를 사용해야 하며, 어떻게 작동하며
어떻게 데비안 ISO 이미지를 얻고 업데이트하는지에 대한 약간의 설명을
추가했다.</p>
<p><strong>우디 포인트-릴리즈를 위한 정책.</strong> <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01411.html">몇몇</a>
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01416.html">개발자들</a>은 최근 발표된 데비안
안정 배포본의 그들의 패키지에 새로운 패키지와 업데이트를 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01614.html">추가하길</a>
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01483.html">원했다</a>.
새로운 패키지와 임의의 업데이트를 안정 배포본에 추가할 수 있지만, 이러한
것은 Joey가 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01641.html">설명했듯이</a>
안정 버전 공개의 전체적인 의미를 무가치하게 할

것이다.</p>
<p><strong>woody의 GNOME2.</strong> Gustavo Noronha Silva는 woody를 위한 GNOME2 역포팅을 했다고
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome-0207/msg00222.html">발표했다</a>. 그의 패키지를 설치하기 위해서는 자신의 <code>/etc/apt/sources.list</code>에
<code>deb http://gluck.debian.org/~kov/debian woody gnome2</code>를 추가해야 한다.
게다가 Gustavo는 몇몇 응용 프로그램을 역포팅했다. 여기 <a href="http://people.debian.org/~kov/shots/gdm2-woody.png">gdm2</a>와

<p><strong>릴리즈 과정 리뷰.</strong> Anthony Towns는 woody 릴리즈 과정에 관한 리뷰를
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-0207/msg00094.html">작성했다</a>. 그는 릴리즈 역사의 짧은 요약을 주었으며 주요한 방해물 : 릴리즈하기
전 6개월 간의 연기, 부트-플로피의 12개월-개발, CD가 제때 준비되지 않은 사실,
보안이 준비되지 않은 것을 늦게 알아차린 것을 지적했다. 그의 sarge에 대한
요청목록(wishlist)은 더 적은 시간의 낭비, 더 나은 의사소통과 투명성과 테스트된
릴리즈 가능한 상태의 내구성을 유지하는 배포본 등을 포함하고 있다.</p>
<p><strong>GIMP 버그에 도움이 필요하다.</strong> Martin Michlmayr는 GIMP 1.0과 1.1 패키지에 대한
버그 리포트를 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01274.html">조사했다</a>. 둘 다 조금전에 데비안으로부터 제거되었으나,
몇 사람의 버그 리포트는 아직까지 공개되어 있다. Martin은 약간의 시간이 있고
이러한 버그 리포트를 경험하여 GIMP를 잘 알며 만약 1.2에서 고쳐진다면 적합한
메시지로 끝낼 수 있거나 이 것들을 부합되는 gimp1.2 패키지에 재할당할 수 있는
누군가를 찾고 있다.</p>
<p><strong>libpng 문제 해결.</strong> Marcelo Magallon은 <code>libpng</code> 버전
2와 3, 그리고 이 라이브러리의
예전 버전에 의존된 개발 패키지들의 목록의 상태를 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01106.html">조사했다</a>. Junichi
Uekawa는 오래된 <code>libpng</code> 패키지에 의존된 라이브러리를 위한 업그레이드 경로를
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01319.html">제안했다</a>. 그렇지만, 사람들은 라이브러리 의존성의 버전을 변경할 때
라이브러리의 SONAME이 변경이 필요하다는 것에 동의하지 않는다.</p>
<p><strong>Glibc의 리눅스 2.0에 대한 지원 중지.</strong> Ben Collins는 앞으로의 데비안
불안정판에 대한 glibc 릴리즈에서 리눅스 커널 2.2.0 이전에 대한 지원을
중지할 것이라고 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0207/msg01627.html">발표했다</a>. 이러한 변화는 i386과 m68k 아키텍처에만
영향을 줄 것이다. 모든 다른 것들은 이미 비슷한 결핍을 지니고 있었다.

것의 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot-0207/msg00546.html">상태 리포트</a>를 작성했다. Tollef는 개발을 이끌 것이며 누르고자
하는 버튼이 말하고자 하는 것이 i386의 사용자들을 위해 이미 작동하고
있다는 것을 말한다.
Anthony Towns는 약간의 흥미로운 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot-0207/msg00548.html">것</a>을 추가했다. 이러한 것을 시도해

<p><strong>펄 5.8.0.</strong> Raphael Hertzog는 펄 5.8.0이 발표되었으며 다시 한번 바이너리
모듈의 바이너리 비호환성이 생겼다고 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl-0207/msg00016.html">보고했다</a>. 데비안이 성장함에 따라
물론, 이러한 점은 예전보다 더 많은 패키지에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 현재의
펄 메인테이너 Brendan O'Dea는 people.debian.org의 그의 홈 디렉토리에
원활한 번환을 돕기 위한 <a href="http://people.debian.org/~bod/perl/README">단계적인 구역</a>을
설정할 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-perl-0207/msg00019.html">생각이다</a>. 이러한

Takeshi Yaegashi(八重樫剛史)는 네 개의 아키텍처 sh3, sh4, sh3eb와 sh4eb를 위한

아직까지 SH3와 SH4 사이의 바이너리 비호환성에 대한 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-superh-0207/msg00016.html">토의</a>가 진행되고 있다.</p>
<p><strong>/usr/doc/ 중단.</strong> Joey Hess는 만약 postinst 스크립트가 관리하는 <code>/usr/doc</code>
링크를 만드는 debhelper의 코드를 제거한다면 다른 개발자들은 어떻게
생각하는 지에 대해 <a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-policy-0207/msg00023.html">궁금해했다</a>. Joey는 많은 패키지를 gcc 3.0으로
재컴파일해서 이행한 때부터 자유를 위한 본질적인 <code>/usr/doc</code> 링크를 잃었다고
덧붙였다. 그렇지만 Adam Heath는 진보가 늦은 것들과의 호환성을 유지하기
