Debian プロジェクトはコミュニティの活発なメンバーの一人を失いました。
Thiemo Seufer さんが 12 月 26 日に残念な事に交通事故で亡くなったのです。</p>

<p>
#Thiemo was involved in Debian in many ways.  He has maintained several
#packages and was the main supporter of the Debian port to the MIPS
#architectures.  He was also a member of our kernel team, as well as a
#member of the Debian Installer team.  His contributions reached far
#beyond the Debian project.  He also worked on the MIPS port of the
#Linux kernel, the MIPS emulation of qemu, and far too many smaller
#projects to be named here.
Thiemo さんは、様々な方面で Debian に関わってきました。複数のパッケージをメンテナンスしており、
MIPS アーキテクチャへの Debian の移植作業の中心的な作業者でした。
また、カーネルチームのメンバーでもあり、Debian Installer チームのメンバーでもありました。
彼による貢献は Debian プロジェクトを超えて行われました。
彼はまた、Linux カーネルの MIPS への移植や qemu での MIPS エミュレーション、
そしてここで名前を挙げることができないほど多数の小さなプロジェクトにも携わっていました。</p>

#this with others will be missed. The contributions of Thiemo will not be
#forgotten.  The high standards of Thiemos work make it hard to pick up.
Thiemo さんによる作業、献身的な振舞い、そして広い範囲に渡る技術的な知識に加え、
その知識を他の人と共有する技能が失われるのは寂しいことです。
Thiemo さんの貢献は忘れられる事はありません。
Thiemo さんの作業水準は高く、ここではどれを挙げるか選びにくいほどです。</p>

彼の Debian に対する貢献に敬意を表し、プロジェクトは次期リリース Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 
<q>Lenny</q> をThiemo さんに捧げることを決定しました。</p>

葬儀は 2009 年 1 月 5 日 (月) 13:30 よりバート・ヴィンプフェンのドミニカ教会にて行われます。
