<p><strong>【Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 更新】</strong></p>

<p>Debian 計劃宣佈了其穩定版本 Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (代號 <q>Etch</q>) 的第五次更新。
這次更新主要是修正一些穩定版中的安全性問題，以及一些嚴重問題的修正。
若是您平常有從 security.debian.org 更新的話，則不需要更新任何套件。大部分 security.debian.org
的更新都包含在此次更新中。
新的 CD 和 DVD 更新映像檔可以從老地方取得。</p>

<p>線上更新可以透過將 aptitude (或是 apt-get) 套件管理工具 (參考 sources.list(5) 手冊) 指向 Debian 的 FTP 或 HTTP 映像站。

<p><strong>【Debian 成員關係】</strong></p>

<p>與各團體成員經過多次討論之後，J&ouml;rg Jaspert
<a href="https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2008/10/msg00005.html">提出</a>要改變參與 Debian 的方法。
改變的動機是要讓那些參與 Debian 計劃但不是維護套件的人 (如翻譯人員或文件寫手)
可以成為 Debian 的一員。他後來又替自己的提案<a href="http://blog.ganneff.de/blog/2008/10/24/developer-status.html">寫了</a>

<p><strong>【archive.debian.org 的一些改變】</strong></p>

<p>J&ouml;rg Jaspert <a href="http://blog.ganneff.de/blog/2008/10/26/archiving-sarge-aka-oldstable.html">宣佈</a>了一些
archive.debian.org 的改變，最重要的是 Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 <q>Sarge</q> 從正規的映像站移至 archive.debian.org 了。
<a href="https://lists.debian.org/debian-mirrors-announce/2008/11/msg00000.html">為了方便我們的映像網路</a>，
刪除的過程分為幾個小塊，避免造成映像站一次刪除大量的檔案。他更

<p><strong>【BTS link 需要新的維護者】</strong></p>

<p>Pierre Habouzit <a href="https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2008/10/msg00006.html">宣佈</a>他無法
繼續維護 BTS link 服務。這個服務是以半自動的方式來追蹤上游臭蟲追蹤系統的動靜並更新相對應的 Debian 臭蟲回報。
目前這個服務需要手動去執行。Don Armstrong，Debian 的臭蟲回報系統的維護者之一，
